Flash Back Friday #7

I am headed to the World Highland Games in Arizona tomorrow so I thought I would look back at some highland game pics to get me motivated to throw far this weekend and come home with a win :)

Here I am with Summer and Lacy last year at worlds in Arizona, where I got second, Summer won and Lacy got third.

Portland Highland Games 2006, throwing open stone.

Here is one of my biggest competitors, Mindy and I after Nationals in California 2006.
She has been ranked #1 in the nation for the last 4 years.

Here I am at nationals in 2006 throwing the weight for height.

Another competitor is Summer. She was a thrower for Stanford back in college and I think one of the funnest people to compete against. She won Worlds last year and is another one to beat.

This is one of my friends Karen from Canada. I dont think she will be down there competing this weekend, but she makes the highland games a blast to compete in.

Heather and I were together all summer in 2006 throwing at every meet we could. That was a fun year :)

This is in Enumclaw Washington in 2007. I think this was my PR of 23feet.

Wish me Luck!!!!!

Flash Back Friday #6

Here is a picture of my Dad with a snow man he made for my mom, when she was pregnant with me in 1978. I love this picture

This is my niece Ellie and I at her pirate themed birthday party in California. I think it was her 6th or 7th birthday. We had such a great time with a treasure hunt, a cool cake and great costumes :)

Here I am as Tolo Queen my senior year in high school with David Franzen as the king. My friend Jenelle is on the left with Luke Detterman and Marca Bruff (I dont know if I spelled her name right) is with? with? I forgot his name (I guess 12 years will do that to you). I remember going to pick out the dresses and having such a hard time finding the same dress in all our sizes. I had to alter mine because they did not have a size big enough for me. And Mr. Beck's (our volleyball coach) wife helped me change the bow around in the back to cover up the open zipper. That was fun :)

Dan's Date Idea

Dan told me last night about the Winter Festival that goes on here every year. Some of his co-workers were telling him about it at work. It is like a big fair, with crafts, animals, dog/horse/and other animal competitions, and my favorite , food :)

Dan told me he is going to take me there next weekend, because he knows how much I love those things. I am so excited, we are always so busy with work, it will be nice to go and do something together that is not lifting or grocery shopping. I am so lucky to have such a great husband :)

Flash Back Friday #5

Here I am with my Dad and Brother Jeff. I think we are some were visiting my sister in Texas or California, you can tell by our red faces that we were not accustom to the sun (Washingtonians). She has been so many places, thats military life for you :)

Here is my Sophomore High School basketball team. We had a great team, great players and people. These were some girls that played with my sister too. I remember how much fun my freshman year was when I got to practice with my sister and Kelly, I loved that! Thanks for being such great roll models for a young girl :)

Here is my Dad and I at my High School graduation, can you tell that we are happy :)
